Newly-appointed MP from Punjab’s Gurdaspur and first time Lok Sabha member Sunny Deol made a big mistake while taking an oath in the lower house.

According to reports, instead of saying ‘uphold the sovereignty and integrity of the country’, Deol said he will ‘withhold’ the sovereignty and integrity of the country.

Even though he corrected himself immediately, the news started doing rounds on the internet and people were quick to notice it.

Earlier, BJP had made a typing error in its manifesto when it had mentioned:

“(We) have made strict provisions for transferring the laws in order to commit crimes against women”.

And who can forget Arnab Goswami calling Sunny Deol, Sunny Leone on TV?

The maiden session of 17th Lok Sabha occurred on Monday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh among the prominent members who took oath on the first day.
